Hello Dear Friends,

How are you?

I am still at my brother’s place enjoying the downtime spent with him and his girlfriend.

We’ve quickly fallen into a comfortable groove here.

She works in a doctors’ office, and he works from home.

I spend most of the day squirreled away in the guest room working, writing.

I’ve grown fond of the $10 wooden table I bought to write at. I can’t imagine I’ll think much of it in a few weeks or months, but for now, the table, chair and this little corner are my whole world.

Elsewhere, the George Floyd-Derek Chauvin case is coming to a close. Closing arguments are set to begin Monday. And Asian American women are finding cute ways to arm themselves against hate crimes.

Be kind,

Should The U.S. Supreme Court Have More Judges?

That is the question some key lawmakers are asking.

Congressional Democrats have introduced legislation that could increase the number of U.S. Supreme Court judges from nine to 13.

According to NBCNews.com, “The Supreme Court can be expanded by an act of Congress, but the legislation is highly unlikely to become law in the near future given Democrats’ slim majorities, which include scores of lawmakers who are not on board with the idea. President Joe Biden has said he is “not a fan” of packing the court.” (Source.)
